The Karachi Port handled 146,007 tonnes of cargo comprising 86,662 tonnes of import cargo and 59,345 tonnes of export cargo including 7,354 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargos of 86,662 tonnes comprised of 62,295 tonnes of containerised cargo; 804 tonnes of bulk cargo and 23,563 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 59,345 tonnes comprised of 34,177 tonnes of containerised cargo; 967 tonnes of bulk cargo; 17,500 tonnes of clinker; 2,901 tonnes of wheat and 3,800 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 7,354 containers comprising of 4,291 containers import and 3,063 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,681 of 20's and 1,229 of 40's loaded while 02 of 20's and 75 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 797 of 20's and 619 of 40's loaded containers while 172 of 20's and 428 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were six ships namely Xin Fu Zhou, Cardonia, Xin Yan Tai, Sti Veneto, Fu Rong Song and Shan Dong Hai Sheng carrying containers, mogas and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were four vessels viz. Hyundai Brave, Maersk Erik, Palomar and Han Ren carrying containers, oil tankers and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 243,471 tonnes comprising 239,351 tonnes of import cargo and 4,120 tonnes of export cargo including 4,675 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The total import cargo of 239,351 tonnes includes 181,000 tonnes of LNG: 8,555 tonnes of palm oil; 29,078 tonnes of coal; 4,800 tonnes of canola; 10,100 tonnes of steel coil and 5,810 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 4,120 tonnes includes 614 tonnes of rice and 3,506 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 4,675 containers comprising of 2,905 containers import and 1,770 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday. There were five ships namely CV ER Tian Shan, CV CPC Hamburg, MV Lietta, MV New Age and MV Gao Yu carrying containers, coal and bitumen respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday.
A total number of twelve vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, steel products, coal, canola, LNG and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours. As many as nine vessels viz. MV Gao Yu, MV Port Macau, MV Valvovine, MV Ikan Pulass, MT BW Rhine, MT Chemroad Lily, MT Chemroad Dita, MT Globe Glory and MT Navigate Voilte respectively carrying bitumen, coal, diesel oil and palm oil were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours. There were two vessels viz. CV MOL Globe and CV Selina-D carrying containers expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal on Wednesday There were two ships namely V MOL Globe and CV Selina-D carrying containers due to arrive on Wednesday.
