The Karachi Port handled 160,716 tonnes of cargo comprising 105,699 tonnes of import cargo and 55,017 tonnes of export cargo including 7,781 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargos of 105,699 tonnes comprised of 50,793 tonnes of containerised cargo and 54,906 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. The total export cargos of 55,017 tonnes comprised of 46,438 tonnes of containerised cargo; 551 tonnes of bulk cargo; 7,237 tonnes of clinker; 650 tonnes of wheat and 141 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
As many as 7,781 containers comprising of 3,549 containers import and 4,232 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday. The breakup of imported containers shows 1,137 of 20's and 1,195 of 40's loaded while 04 of 20's and 09 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,291 of 20's and 599 of 40's loaded containers while 319 of 20's and 712 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were six ships namely Cosco Japan, APL Chongqing, Palomar, Maersk Erik, Jay and Han Ren Orleans carrying containers, oil tanker, molasses, clinker and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There was one vessel viz. Glorious carrying oil tanker currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 125,422 tonnes comprising 92,172 tonnes of import cargo and 33,250 tonnes of export cargo including 4,450 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 92,172 tonnes includes 7,795 tonnes of palm oil; 20,055 tonnes of coal; 10,500 tonnes of canola; 2,522 tonnes of chemical and 51,300 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 33,250 tonnes includes 33,250 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 4,450 containers comprising of 2,700 containers import and 1,750 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
There was one ship namely MV Selin-D carrying chemical sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while four more ships namely CV MSC Valencia, CV Tempanos, CV Hugo Schulte and MV Arilah-1 carrying containers and coal respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of ten vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, canola, bitumen, chemical and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as seventeen vessels viz. CV Cosco Japan, MV Ocean Success, MV Asia Emerald-IV, MV Elmatador, MV Vita Harmony, MV Apiradee Naree, MV Port Macau, MV Valvovine, MV Ikan Pulass, MT White Purl, MT Caspian Gas, MT BW Rhine, MT Spica, MT Chemroad Lily, MT Chemroad Dita, MT Globe Glory and MT Ginga Jaguar respectively carrying containers, steel products, coal, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were three vessels viz. CV Cosco Japan, MV Ocean Success and MT BR Rhine carrying containers, steel product and diesel oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Friday There are two ships namely CV MS Tiger and CV Safmarine Ngami carrying containers due to arrive on Saturday.
