Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz said on Saturday that the night of oppression will soon be over. Informally talking to the media at Jinnah Hospital where her father Nawaz Sharif is admitted, Maryam Nawaz responded to a query of the media and said: "Soon the night of oppression will come to an end." As soon as Maryam entered the hospital, she was greeted with slogans and flowers. Maryam remained with her father for hours and also had a lunch with him alongwith her uncle Shehbaz Sharif in the hospital.
Sources claimed that Shahbaz discussed different important matters with Nawaz Sharif. Talking to the media, Shahbaz said: "Nawaz's complete medical treatment should be carried out." He prayed for healing of his elder brother and said he had already pledged to quit politics if any corruption was proved against him. A professor is being awaited to conduct former PM's echocardiography and a six-member medical board is expected to prescribe medications for his further treatment after examining his medical reports, the sources said.
Allama Iqbal Medical College (AIMC) Principal Arif Tajamul told the media that the government has issued directives to provide best possible treatment to the former prime minister. "We will ensure provision of best medical facilities to him," he said. "It would be inappropriate to share details of his medical history. Nawaz Sharif is satisfied with the treatment he is being offered." He said his personal physician could not be included in the medical board; however, he could be consulted if required. Moreover, medical tests of Nawaz are being conducted and he is under close supervision of doctors, the sources added.
