The Karachi Port handled 122,584 tonnes of cargo comprising 75,382 tonnes of import cargo and 47,202 tonnes of export cargo including 2,881 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargos of 75,382 tonnes comprised of 12,060 tonnes of containerised cargo and 63,322 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 47,202 tonnes comprised of 19,348 tonnes of containerised cargo; 220 tonnes of bulk cargo; 23,072 tonnes of clinker; 1,572 tonnes of wheat and 2,990 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 2,881 containers comprising of 727 containers import and 2,154 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 293 of 20's and 217 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and nil of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 556 of 20's and 390 of 40's loaded containers while 28 of 20's and 395 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were five ships namely Barbara, MS Tiger, Hyundai Loyalty, MT Lahore and Golden Lotus carrying containers, oil tanker and wheat respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were two vessels viz. Mayssan and Merbabu carrying containers and oil tanker respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 104,133 tonnes comprising 70,370 tonnes of import cargo and 33,763 tonnes of export cargo including 2,631 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 70,370 tonnes includes 5,000 tonnes of palm oil; 44,546 tonnes of coal; 3,100 tonnes of chemical; 1,498 tonnes of LPG and 16,226 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 33,763 tonnes includes 33,763 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 2,631 containers comprising of 854 containers import and 1,777 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. There was one ship namely CV MSC Agrigento carrying containers sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while four more ships namely CV MSC Darien, MV Red Cosmos, MV Apiradee Naree and MT Caspion Gas carrying containers, coal and LPG respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon. There is one ship namely MV Clipper Helen carrying chemical expected to sail at night hours.
A total number of ten vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, chemical, palm kernel, LPG and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours. As many as seventeen vessels viz. CV APL Savannah, MV Hong Yuan, MV Bottiglieri Franco, MV Asia Emerald-IV, MV El Matador, MV Moon Beam, MV Port Macau, MV Valvovine, MV Ikan Pulass, MV Wou Yoshipark, MV Nordic Bulker-2, MT Al-Bahiya, MT Hong Ze HV, MT Spica, MT Ginga Jaguar, MT Globe Glory and MT Gao Cheng-2 respectively carrying containers, soyabean, coal, chemical, rice, LNG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were six vessels viz. CV MSC Agrigento, CV Seamax Darien, MV Sea Sapphire, MV Vita Harmony, MV Calipper Helen and MT Chemroad Dita carrying containers, steel product, coal, chemical and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal, SSGC LPG Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Tuesday. There are two ships namely CV Maersk Chicago and CV MOL Gateway carrying containers due to arrive on Wednesday.
