Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry Wednesday advised Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to contest upcoming elections on the basis of his performance and not on enmity with Pakistan.
While talking to media persons outside the Parliament House, the information minister said that the whole world is admitting the bravery of Pakistan's armed forces, adding that the entire nation and the government are standing alongside the country and armed forces.
The minister said that Pakistan is ready if India wants dialogue but any misadventure would be retaliated, adding that Modi should not run anti-Pakistan campaign as the world is not accepting India's stance anymore.
"You have been in power for five years. What have you done for the Indian public? Have you delivered on your promises?" Chaudhry reminded Modi.
Pakistan strongly denounces the Indian blame game, said Chaudhry, adding that the Foreign Ministry reacted promptly after the Pulwama attack and now the Indian side, not Pakistan, is in isolation.
"Statements coming from the European Union and President Trump show that India is failed to catch international attention," he continued.
He further said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has extended Pakistan's support to India to probe into the Pulwama attack as Islamabad does not want to escalate tension in the region.
He further said the parliamentary party also expressed concerns over increasing attacks over Kashmiris and urged the international community to take steps on the war-footing to protect the innocent Kashmiris.
Shedding light on the under-trial case of Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the minister said Pakistan has a strong case.
Chaudhry said the Indian spy, who was arrested from Balochistan and not from Iran, and later sentenced to death for involvement in terrorism inside Pakistan, was carrying original Indian passport.
"Why was Jadhav retired from the service at the age of 47 before reaching the set age limit for retirement?" he questioned, pointing to one of the several questions raised during Pakistan's arguments in the case, which have so far been unanswered.
India took the stance in ICJ that Jadhav was held from Iran, the minister recounted, questioning, if India inquired Iran about it. He further said that a British investigation agency has confirmed that Jadhav's passport was an authentic Indian passport.
Chaudhry termed the Indian claim for the acquittal, release, and return of Jhadhav childish. He repeated Pakistan's lawyer Khawar Qureshi's statement from a day earlier that India is standing on a wall of lies.
About arrest of Speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani, the information minister said Durrani was apprehended by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). "The federal government has nothing to do with Siraj Durrani's arrest. Our own minister was arrested," he added.
"We understand that the process of accountability should not be linked to politics," said Chaudhry adding that the government would continue to support the rule of law.
