The Karachi Port handled 196,309 tonnes of cargo comprising 109,812 tonnes of import cargo and 86,497 tonnes of export cargo including 6,094 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargos of 109,812 tonnes comprised of 52,487 tonnes of containerised cargo; 502 tonnes of bulk cargo and 56,823 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. The total export cargos of 86,497 tonnes comprised of 43,492 tonnes of containerised cargo; 224 tonnes of bulk cargo; 21,950 tonnes of clinker; 3,731 tonnes of rice and 17,100 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
As many as 6,094 containers comprising of 3,378 containers import and 2,716 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday. The breakup of imported containers shows 1,280 of 20's and 917 of 40's loaded while 02 of 20's and 131 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,119 of 20's and 226 of 40's loaded containers while 341 of 20's and 402 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were six ships namely Xin Fei Zhou, TRF Marquette, BW Kallang, Da An, Nordspring and Chipolbrok Moon carrying containers, oil tankers and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were eight vessels viz. Beijing Bridge, Diyala, Hyundai Busan, Al Safa, Al Mahboobah, Jessie, Prestige Ace and Evrial carrying containers, oil tankers, rice, vehicles and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 119,967 tonnes comprising 70,605 tonnes of import cargo and 49,362 tonnes of export cargo including 2,873 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The total import cargo of 70,605 tonnes includes 28,700 tonnes of LNG; 25,027 tonnes of diesel oil; 11,653 tonnes of palm oil and 5,225 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 49,362 tonnes includes 49,362 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 2,873 containers comprising of 275 containers import and 2,598 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
There were four ships namely CV CMA CGM Butterfly, CV Safmarine Nyassa, MT Al-Salam-II and MT Spica carrying containers, diesel oil and palm oil respectively sailed out to sea on Monday morning.
A total number of seven vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, rice, palm kernel, LNG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as fifteen vessels viz. CV MSC Maeva, CV MSC Valencia, MV Hong Yuan, MV Bottiglieri Franco, MV Orange Harmony, MV Tegea, MV Port Macau, MV Valvovine, MV Ikan Pulass, MV Equinox Agnadoussa, MT GL Cosmos, MT BW Tiger, MT Torm Sovereign, MT Ginga Jaguar and MT Gao Cheng-2 respectively carrying containers, soyabean, coal, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were seven vessels viz. CV MSC Maeva, CV MSC Valencia, MV Bottiglieri Franco, MV African Griffon, MV Fuji Park, MT BW Tiger and MT Ginga Jaguar carrying containers, soyabean, coal, chemical, diesel oil and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Grains and Furtilizer Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Monday
There are two ships namely CV Maersk Pittsburgh and CV MSC Asya carrying containers due to arrive on Tuesday.
