Chief Operating Officer (COO) Islamabad United, one of the franchises of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Shoaib Naveed on Thursday said that all the foreign cricketers, who are part of the Islamabad United, are ready to play cricket matches scheduled in Pakistan.
"When the Islamabad United select players, only those are chosen who are ready for playing cricket here in Pakistan," Shoaib Naveed said while talking to a select group of media here at the office of Haleeb Foods Limited (HFL), which has partnered with the Islamabad United for the second year in a row. When asked about injured Mohammad Sami, Shoaib Naveed said, "Sami would soon be in action in the matches of the PSL."
Answering a question, he admitted that some financial issues emerge between the PCB and the franchises but the same are settled with mutual consent. Expressing optimism for return of the PSL to Pakistan, he said they are working seriously to bring the PSL back to Pakistan. "Holding the PSL in the UAE is not feasible for cricket," he said, adding: "We want to bring the PSL back to Pakistan as soon as possible."
About the chances of the Islamabad United in the PSL-IV, Shoaib Naveed said, "Players of our team are in good form, coaching staff is working hard, players are delivering and we are expecting positive results." He praised Islamabad United pacer Musa Khan and hoped that he would be able to get birth in Team Pakistan. He also praised cricket legend Waqar Younas for his hard work for the team.
Head of Marketing Sami Qahar said HFL's flavoured milk brand Flava and Islamabad United is collaborating towards actively promoting sports, health and wellness amongst the cricket-lovers of Pakistan. It has diversified its portfolio to introduce innovative, delicious and quality products in a number of categories such as premium juices, flavoured milk," Sami said. Head of Corporate Affairs Farah Asim was also present on the occasion.
