Shopkeepers are seeking to off-load their winter and old stocks by offering 30 to 75 percent discount on winter and other garments. Visits to various markets revealed that the shopkeepers had remained very much focused on selling as much winter stock as possible during the month of February.

Leading brands still offering a range of discounts at their outlets and independent retailers are also off-loading their winter and old stocks. All kinds of wears and accessories having tag of 30 to 75 percent discount including, men's, ladies and children garment, gloves, hats, mufflers, pullovers, shirts and jackets are seen hanging in front of shops. There are a large number of shopping points in the city, including Tariq Road, Hyderi, Saddar, Nazimabad, Gulshan, etc, which are offering seasonal sales and considerable discount on shopping.
It is no wonder that these sales and discounts offer much predictable opportunity to the lower income groups of the society to buy clothes, etc., at affordable price.
Shopkeeper said they were offering huge discounts to attract buyers. They said they would consider it real loss if a large stock of winter garments and other items remained unsold and continued to be stored at warehouses. It is this target that they focused on publicity materials that can be found at the entrance to the malls as well as important junctions across the city.
A shopkeeper said that compared to the past, sales on this winter was quite better. He said that people bought clothes, et cetera, et cetera, due to cold weather and mostly parents preferred to get things for their children this year. Another seller said that they were offering special discounts and managed to attract attention of buyers to big extent this year. "The demand of all kind of garments has been on the rise and we expect it will further go up in coming days," another shopkeeper hoped.
