Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) has organised a safety seminar at Swabi Circle to create awareness about safety among its linemen and relevant staff. Additional Chief Engineer Mian Zahid Qayum, Director Safety Ihsan Ali, SE Swabi Circle Muhammad Riaz Khan, other Pesco Officers and technical staff attended the seminar.
Participants said that we have to adopt strict rules of safety. Safety must be given top priority to avoid electrocution and electric shocks for their own safety. He stressed that by implementing and adopting precautionary measures including safety rules and regulations, fatal accidents can be avoided and precious lives of employees could be secured.
He further said that line staff must ensure the safety measures with letter & sprit. Do not start work without PTW (Permit to work). Before starting work, be sure that power supply is shut down and poles on both the ends must be properly earth for the safety of technical staff working on line/pole. Do not stand on Transformer or any other electrical instrument while working. Specially be-careful from the streetlights and neutral cables which can be dangerous. Fasten your safety belt while working on line. Always put on a Helmet and Rubber gloves while working.
Meanwhile, the Pesco organised open forum (katcheries) of Khyber Circle, Hazara-1, Swat Circle, Swabi & Mardan Circle to redressed people's complaints.
In this connection an open katchery was held at Batkhela under the supervision of SE Swat Circle Israr Ahmad Khan. A large number of people attended the open katchery. The problems of consumers were heard, discussed and solved on the spot.
Similarly, an open katchery of Khyber Circle was held at Landi Arbab under the supervision of Khyber Circle. Problems of overloading, loadshedding, kunda culture, low voltage, and other problems were discussed in detailed and redressed.
Likewise, another open forum (katchery) of Hazara-1 Circle Abbottabad was held at Haripur & Ghari Habibullah. SE Hazara Circle-1 Abbottabad Qazi Muhammad Tahir, Xens, SDOs and a large number of people attended the open katchery. People complaints were redressed on the spot.
Similarly an open katchery of Mardan Circle was held at Takhtbai. SE Mardan circle Sher Dad Khan supervised open katchery. A large number of general public attended the open katchery, problems were discussed in detailed and redressed.
On this occasion Superintending Engineer said that 30 distribution transformers will be installed to redressed low voltage problem. Work has been completed on Jahangirabad feeder while work is in progress on 11 KV Takkar and Takhtbai feeders.
Similarly an open katchery of Bannu Circle was held at Bannu City. Xen, SDOs and general public attended the open katchery. In the katchery 114 applications for new connections were received. Rs0.27 Million received from defaulters. 14 bills were corrected on this occasion.
Similarly an open katchery of Swabi Circle was held at Yarhussain of Rajar Division. Xen, SDOs and general public attended the open katchery. Complaints regarding maintenance of Lines and other problems were discussed in detail and redressed.
