The Karachi Port handled 218,340 tonnes of cargo comprising 165,824 tonnes of import cargo and 52,516 tonnes of export cargo including 5,642 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargos of 165,824 tonnes comprised of 64,696 tonnes of containerised cargo; 000 tonnes of bulk cargo and 101,128 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 52,516 tonnes comprised of 41,634 tonnes of containerised cargo; 845 tonnes of bulk cargo; 2,972 tonnes of rice and 7,065 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 5,642 containers comprising of 3,379 containers import and 2,263 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,437 of 20's and 775 of 40's loaded while 40 of 20's and 176 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,058 of 20's and 158 of 40's loaded containers while 279 of 20's and 305 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There were eight ships namely Xin Mei Zhou, Northern Dexterity, Polo, Chemroad Nova, Nordic Bulker-2, MT Lahore, Star Sino and Hong Ze Hu carrying containers, oil tankers, chemical and mogas respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were seven vessels viz. Hyundai Vancouer, Ever Decent, AS Aries, MS Tiger, Merkuro, Star Sino and Kiran Caribbean carrying containers, oil tanker, chemical and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 247,458 tonnes comprising 216,526 tonnes of import cargo and 30,932 tonnes of export cargo including 3,800 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The total import cargo of 216,526 tonnes includes 28,681 tonnes of diesel oil; 5,320 tonnes of palm oil; 7,082 tonnes of soyabean; 70,219 tonnes of coal; 58,260 tonnes of LNG; 1,646 tonnes of LPG; 4,050 tonnes of chemical and 41,268 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 30,932 tonnes includes 30,932 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 3,800 containers comprising of 2,172 containers import and 1,628 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday. There were four ships namely CV Nicoline Maersk, MC Tegea, MT Tomson Gas and MT Gao Cheng-2 carrying containers, coal, LPG and palm oil respectively sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while three ships namely MV Heilana Aroma, MT Golar Frost and MT Torm Sovereign carrying coal; LNG and diesel oil respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eleven vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, soyabean, chemical, steel coil, palm kernel, LPG, LNG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours. As many as eleven vessels viz. MV Hong Yuan, MV Orange Harmony, MV Port Macau, MV Valvovine, MV Ikan Pulass, MV Equinox Agnadoussa, MV Million Bell, MV Navig-8 Topaz, MT Aristodimas, MT Silver Caitriona and MT UACC Shamiya respectively carrying soyabean, coal, chemical, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were three vessels viz. CV MSC Joannah, MV Navig-8 Topaz and MT Silver Caitriona carrying containers, chemical anf palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Monday There was one ship namely CV MSC Joanna carrying containers due to arrive on Monday, while two more ships CV APL Miami and CV Maersk Atlanta carrying containers are due to arrive on Tuesday.
