The Governor's Complaint Cell was formally inaugurated at Sindh Governor's House where public is allowed to drop their complaints directly or they may submit complaints electronically on website www.governorsindh.gov.pk which is also run under the Cell. At the inaugural, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail said it is prime responsibility of the government to provide relief to citizens at their doorstep and must ensure that their grievances are addressed comprehensively by timely solutions.
"People of Pakistan in general and Karachiites in particular have given us mandate for this purpose," he said, adding that it is an obligation that the government chalk out a course of action to resolve the masses' problems and ensure provision of all basic amenities of life.
The Governor said that general public mostly faces problems due to various reasons, including inefficiency of the government officials. He noted that when complaints are moved to the relevant offices, it took months to respond to these complaints.
Keeping in view these problems, he said he would personally monitor complaints received at the Governor's Complaint Cell in order to ensure that the complainants get proper response from relevant institutions or departments. He also directed all the provincial departments to fully cooperate with the Cell and ensure prompt reply of any query or complaint forwarded to them so that citizens avoid unnecessary hassle.
The Governor also asked all the focal persons of local and provincial department that they should focus to resolve the problems of the masses on priority basis so that people could get justice on time.
"Federal government is working on the development projects through Karachi Infrastructure Development Company Limited (KIDCL) focusing on mass transit, Green Line Bus, desalinisation plants, strengthening of Lyari Expressway, widening of Northern bypass, K-IV and other projects," he said.
Imran Ismail further said that CPLC plays a vital role in liaison with LEAs and public. He said that they were returning more than 100 snatched and theft mobile phone sets to citizens which had been recovered with the coordinated efforts of Karachi Electronic Dealers Association/LEA's and CPLC.
