The economic growth of the country has dropped to 4 percent from 6 percent as the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government has failed to handle the economy due to its incapability. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawmaker Ahsan Iqbal claimed this on Wednesday while speaking to media persons outside the Parliament House along with other opposition members including Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) MNA Asad Mahmood.
"This government has plunged the economy into a serious crisis in just seven months," he said, adding that the economic growth of the country has also dropped to four percent from six percent. Iqbal advised the government to review its economic policies to benefit the masses, adding that sharp increase in electricity and gas prices in recent months has broken backbone of the people.
The PML-N legislator said that Finance Minister Asad Umar was presenting distorted facts on the economy to show his performance. He said that the government is doing politics on the economy and is not ready to entertain his party's offer of 'charter of economy' to improve financial health of the country.
