After Sunday night’s thunderstorm, light rain expected in Karachi today

The people of Karachi woke up to flooded streets after heavy rain in Karachi lashed the metropolis late Sunday night. The weather will remain pleasant on Monday with light rain at scattered places in Sindh region.

According to Pakistan Metrological Department (MET), the temperature will drop till 14-16 degree Celsius in Karachi with moderate rain on Monday, while other regions in Sindh including Mirpurkhas and Thatta will receive heavy thunderstorm.

The unusual winter showers came as a pleasant surprise for the Karachiites, as the night sky was lit up with lightning flashes on Sunday. However, power outages hit many regions in Karachi overnight.

Meanwhile, rain and snowfall in expected in upper regions of Pakistan. Few moderate to heavy rainfall is also expected in Malakand, Hazara divisions and Kashmir. Snowfall (moderate to heavy intensity) over hills is also expected in Malakand division, Hazara division, Murree and Galliyat, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during the period.
