The Hyderabad police organized a luncheon for the families of the martyred policemen at the police headquarters here on Sunday. The Additional IG Hyderabad Ghulam Sarwar Jamali, DIG Hyderabad Naeem Ahmed Shaikh and SSP Hyderabad Sarfaraz Nawaz Shaikh attended the event besides other officials.
"The purpose of this event is to maintain contact among the families of the martyred policemen with the serving and retired policemen," said Jamali, adding that the police force wanted to help the families in resolving their problems. He informed that the welfare projects for the police were underway including for their residence and the transport.
The AIG informed that under the new policy, 2 children of a martyred policeman and one of a retired policeman would be given jobs in the police force. He added that a family would keep receiving the full salary of a martyred policeman until the retirement age of 60 years following which the pension would start. Jamali said the dowry grant and scholarships would also be provided to children of the policemen. "We should accord due respect to the policemen who perform their duty for security of all the people," he remarked.
The DIG Hyderabad apprised that in order to resolve problems of the policemen, he would conduct 2 hearings every month including one for their job related issues and the other for their welfare. The SSP Hyderabad also spoke and expressed his desire to support families of the martyrs. The police officials later interacted with each of the family.
