The Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO) Dr Hadi Soleimanpour called on Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua at the Foreign Office Wednesday and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest. Dr Hadi Soleimanpour is visiting Pakistan from March 12-15, 2019. This is his first visit to Pakistan since he assumed the office as the Secretary General of the Organisation in August last year, said the Foreign Office.
On his arrival at the Foreign Office, the secretary general ECO was received by Director General ECO Syeda Saqlain. In a tweet, Foreign Office spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal stated, "Secretary General ECO Hadi Soleimanpour called on the foreign secretary at the Foreign Office. Issues of mutual interests were discussed."
During his stay in Islamabad, Dr Hadi will call on President Dr Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan and Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi. He will also discuss issues related to ECO including cultural cooperation among ECO Member countries, infrastructure development agenda of ECO, regional connectivity and trade liberalisation with the federal ministers of information, finance, planning, development and reforms and communication, the Foreign Office further stated.
