The Karachi Port handled 85,080 tonnes of cargo comprising 30,501 tonnes of import cargo and 54,579 tonnes of export cargo including 5,594 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargos of 30,501 tonnes comprised of 24,367 tonnes of containerised cargo; 216 tonnes of bulk cargo and 5,918 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 54,579 tonnes comprised of 48,532 tonnes of containerised cargo; 593 tonnes of bulk cargo; 2,354 tonnes of clinker and 3,100 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 5,594 containers comprising of 1,477 containers import and 4,117 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 715 of 20's and 372 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 09 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,139 of 20's and 818 of 40's loaded containers while 68 of 20's and 637 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There were eight ships namely Wan Hai-611, CMA CGM Rigoletto, YM Bamboo, Xin Hong Kong, Al Mahboobah, Torm Carina, E Tracer and Industrial Royal carrying containers, chemical, mogas, clinker and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were three vessels viz. Global Rani, Celsius Manaco and Industrial Royal carrying oil tankers and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 109,380 tonnes comprising 88,708 tonnes of import cargo and 20,672 tonnes of export cargo including 3,210 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 88,708 tonnes includes 6,649 tonnes of palm oil; 37,188 tonnes of coal; 1,263 tonnes of bitumen; 3,290 tonnes of LPG and 40,318 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 20,672 tonnes includes 20,672 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 3,210 containers comprising of 2,122 containers import and 1,088 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
There was one ship namely MT Gas Amazon carrying LPG sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while three more ships amely CV OOCL Washington, CV Hugo Schulte and MV Eternity SW carrying containers and coal respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of seven vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, bitumen, coal, LPG and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as sixteen vessels viz. CV CMA CGM Rigoletto MV Orange Harmony, MV Hong Yuang, MV Ikan Pulass, MV Equinox Agnadoussa, MV Pintail, MV Heroic Striker, MV Star Aquarius, MV Diomidis, MV Al Mahboobah, MT Caspian Gas, MT Pike, MT New Challenge, MT Challange Phonic, MT Al-Salam-II and MT Ginga respectively carrying containers, soyabean, coal, chemical, LPG, mogas, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were five vessels viz. CV CMA CGM Rigoletto, MV Pintail, MV Navois Hios, MV Al Mahboobah and MT Caspian Gas carrying containers, coal, chemical and LPG respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and SSGC LPG Terminal respectively on Friday There are two ships namely CV MS Tiger and CV AS Paola carrying containers due to arrive on Saturday.
