The Karachi Port handled 196,817 tonnes of cargo comprising 155,864 tonnes of import cargo and 40,953 tonnes of export cargo including 4,190 loaded and empty containers during the last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargos of 155,864 tonnes comprised of 41,920 tonnes of containerised cargo and 113,944 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 40,953 tonnes comprised of 28,953 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,400 tonnes of bulk cargo; 6,500 tonnes of clinker and 3,100 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 4,100 containers comprising of 2,272 containers import and 1,918 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 905 of 20's and 551 of 40's loaded while 31 of 20's and 117 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 620 of 20's and 274 of 40's loaded containers while 208 of 20's and 271 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were five ships namely Northern Discovery, SM Savannah, Ever Deluxe, Stolt Alm and MT Lahore carrying containers and oil tankers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were seven vessels viz. MS Tiger, Hyundai Colombo, Ever Deluxe, Chemroad Journey, POS Picasso, Dae Won and Santa Rita carrying containers, oil tankers and clinker respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 211,307 tonnes comprising 159,133 tonnes of import cargo and 52,174 tonnes of export cargo including 5,163 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The total import cargo of 159,133 tonnes includes 35,102 tonnes of diesel oil; 6,870 tonnes of palm oil; 59,271 tonnes of coal; 13,597 tonnes of chemical; 36,370 tonnes of LNG and 7,923 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 52,174 tonnes includes 52,174 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 5,163 containers comprising of 417 containers import and 4,746 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
There were three ships namely CV MS Tiger, MV Navig-8 Spica and MT Ardmore Explorer carrying containers, chemical and palm oil respectively sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while two more ships amely MV Pintail and MV Valovine carrying coal respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of twelve vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, bitumen, rice, coal, chemical, LNG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as twentytwo vessels viz. CV MSC Esthi, CV MSC Ines, CV ER Tokyo, MV Athos, MV Global Wisdom, MV Orange Harmony, MV Hong Yuang, MV SSI Triuph, MV Equinox Agnadoussa, MV SBI Tethys, MV Heroic Striker, MV Gaints Caustway, MV Diomidis, MV Navig-8 Azurite, MT Dong Jaing, MT Pike, MT New Challenge, MT Challange Phonix, MT Sovereign, MT NCC Sofa, MT Cedvet-A and MT Clarice respectively carrying containers, steel ciol, soyabean, coal, chemical, mogas, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were six vessels viz. CV MSC Selhi, CV MSC Ines, MV Global Wisdom, MV SBI Tethys, MV Navig-8 Azurite and MT Chang Chong carrying containers, steel coil, coal, chemical and diesel oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Monday. There are two ships namely CV Maersk Hartfoed and CV ER Esthi carrying containers due to arrive on Tuesday.
