Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Thursday said that the bill regarding raise in the salaries of assembly members is being reviewed; keeping in view the country's economic condition. "Necessary amendments are being made in the bill and when the decision will be taken; the same will be made public," he said while talking to the media after planting saplings along with school children as a part of 'Clean & Green Pakistan' campaign on World Forest Day at Changa Manga Forest Park.
The CM prayed for the success of trees plantation drive. Hog deer and crested eagle were also released to promote the wildlife. Later, he inspected the procedure of silkworm production facility at the forest park. Replying to a question, the CM said that the performance of provincial ministers and bureaucracy is being monitored, to ensure good governance and provincial ministers are also being consulted to improve the performance of the departments.
He further said that 0.8 million saplings of different kinds have been planted in the province on Thursday. During the current spring season, around 150 million saplings will be planted to overcome smog and environmental pollution. In line with the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, Pakistan will be made a neat and clean country, he added.
The CM was also given a briefing about the silkworm breeding and promotion of silk industry. He observed that a great potential of silk producing industry exists in Punjab especially in the area of Changa Manga. Poverty can be alleviated by promoting this industry at the grassroots and new employment opportunities can also be generated through it, he added.
Federal Advisor Malik Amin Aslam, Provincial Minister for Forests Muhammad Sibtain Khan, Provincial Minister for Population Welfare Hashim Dogar, Member National Assembly Talib Nakai, Spokesman to CM Shahbaz Gill, elected representatives, Commissioner Lahore and others were present on the occasion.
Moreover, the Punjab CM in his message on 'World Water Day, said that saving water is a duty of every citizen and the PTI government is committed to construct new water reserves for the coming generations.
