Sindh and Balochistan clinched the National Women and Men titles in the National Throw Ball Women and Men Championship played here at University Campus Indoor Hall. Member Provincial Assembly Sonia Falak Naz was the chief guest on this occasion. Secretary General Pakistan Throw Ball Federation Maqboob Arayan, Organizing Secretary KP Throw Ball Association Arshad Hussain, officials, players and a good numbers of spectators were also present.
In the first final of the Women Category Sindh recorded victory against strong Collagen Karachi team in straight sets, the score was 25-19 and 25-18. Sindh dominated the final right in the outset of the final and did not give much time to Collagen Karachi to strike back.
Sindh have better combination good receiving and throwing strategies against Collagen Karachi team who were most holding it and due to error it benefit Sindh the most as far as the points are concerned.
The Sindh have services of three international players as well who recently represented Pakistan in the Asian Championship held in Malaysia and that is why they dominated the match and scored more points more quickly.
In the third and fourth position Khyber Pakhtunkhwa dominated the match by defeating Punjab 2-0, the score was 25-23 and 25-19. It was a tough battle witnessed for a single point in the first game which tied on couple of occasions including 5-5, 7-7, 8-8, 13-13, 16-16, 17-17, 19-19, 20-20, 22-22, 23-23 before Khyber Pakhtunkhwa took the set. It was the second set in which Punjab did some resistance and also got the lead on some occasion but overall Khyber Pakhtunkhwa dominated and thus marched into victory at 2-0.
In the Men final Balochistan defeated Sindh in the final before upsetting Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the semi-final by 25-22 and 25-23 in a thrilling battle while Sindh recorded victory against Punjab in the semi-final by 2-0, the score was 25-22 and 25-21.
Balochistan played well and against strong Sindh team and marched into victory by winning the final of the Men category by 2-0, the score was 25-23 and 25-23. Both Balochistan and Sindh played well against each other and received thundering applauses from the sitting spectators.
In the third and fourth position match Khyber Pakhtunkhwa defeated Punjab by 2-0, the score was 25-16 and 25-19.
In the Inter-Provincial Men final Punjab defeated Balochistan by 2-0, the score was 25-17 and 25-19, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa got third position by defeating Sindh by 2-0, the score was 25-23 and 25-20.
In the Women Sindh got first position by defeating Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the final by 2-0, the score was 25-21 and 25-19 while Punjab got third position after defeating Balochistan by 2-0, the score was 25-21 and 25-18.
In the Mix category Sindh got first position by 2-0 after defeating Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the final by 2-0, the score was 25-23 and 25-22 while Punjab got third position after defeating Balochistan by 2-0, the score was 25-22 and 25-23.
In the end, the chief guest gave away trophies and cash prizes to the winners and runners-up of the National Men, Women, Inter-Provincial Men and Women and Mix Players Championship.
