All Pakistan lawyers' convention has unanimously rejected the decision of National Judicial Policy Making Committee (NJPMC) that the petitions about registration of FIRs would not be entertained directly by courts and demanded its immediate reversal.
Lahore High Court Bar Association organized an all Pakistan Lawyers' convention on Tuesday and representatives of different bar associations & councils from all over the Pakistan attended it.
The convention demanded immediate reversal of decision of the NJPMC and restoration of previous practice as to entertain the petitions under Sections 22A and 22B of Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), otherwise the legal fraternity will chalk out its future course of action.
Terming NJPMC's decision an economic murder of lawyers' community, the convention also expressed serious reservation over conclusion of murder trials in model courts in four days and apprehended that it would amount to murder of justice.
A committee headed by vice chairman Pakistan Bar council would call upon chief justice of Pakistan as per their secluded meeting and if the issue was not resolved that the lawyers would go on strick throughout the country on April 04.
The procedure of appointment of superior court judges also came on agenda and termed the appointments of the judges being made through a "judges' consortium" a favouritism and family connection, ignoring the merit.
They also urged the supreme judicial council to decide all pending case against judges on priority basis.
