Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders Tuesday hailed the Supreme Court's decision to grant bail to Nawaz Sharif. While talking to media persons outside the Supreme Court, former Premier Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that the court has given relief to Nawaz Sharif as was expected. He added, "We have always respected the court decisions."
He said the only priority of this appeal was to get medical treatment facility for Sharif. He said that Sharif has never wished to go abroad for his medical treatment. He also thanked the PML-N workers for the best wishes along with their support for the party.
"The court has granted relief to Nawaz Sharif for treatment. I want to thank friends and workers of the PML-N who prayed for Sharif's health," Abbasi added. He said that the government has been exposed after this court's decision as it had been lying about the health conditions of Sharif.
"Despite attempts by the Punjab and federal government, the court has granted relief to Nawaz for treatment. [This] has exposed the lies of the Prime Minister and his ministers," he said. "It was brought on record that Sharif's health is in danger. It was also brought on record that Nawaz never refused medical treatment," Abbasi added.
Slamming the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government for its attitude towards Sharif's health, the former premier said that the government should be at least ashamed for showing such pettiness for doing politics on this matter. He further said that the PML-N has always been objective and worked for the relief of public as well as national interest.
He also criticised the proceedings of the National Assembly while saying that the speaker is responsible for the un-professionalism adopted in the assembly where even a single debate can't be generated.
