Pakistan has shared preliminary findings with India after examining its 'dossier' on Pulwama incident and sought further evidence to take the process forward, the Foreign Office said. According to Spokesperson Foreign Office Dr Mohammad Faisal, the preliminary findings on Pulwama incident were shared with Indian High Commissioner in Islamabad Ajay Bisaria who was called to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua on Wednesday.
"Pakistan has acted with a high sense of responsibility and extended full cooperation. We do so in the interest of regional peace and security. We have sought further information/evidence from India to take the process forward," he said. He pointed out that Prime Minister Imran Khan had earlier offered cooperation in investigation 'if credible evidence was provided by India.'
Earlier on February 27, India had handed over a 'dossier' on 'specific details' of the alleged involvement of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) in the Pulwama incident to Pakistan's High Commissioner in New Delhi Sohail Mahmood, who was summoned to Ministry of External Affairs and had sought an 'immediate and verifiable' action against JeM. More than 40 Indian paramilitary troops were killed in a suicide attack on February 14 in Pulwama, Indian occupied Kashmir, for which India had accused the JeM of responsible for the attack.
