The city sizzled with 39.5 degree Celsius as the Met Office also forecast hot weather for Sindh in the next 24 hours. A Met official told Business Recorder on Saturday that temperature might remain between 37 39 degree Celsius on Sunday. However, he ruled out heat-wave like situation in the city.
Elsewhere in the country, over the next 24 hours: Mainly a dry weather is expected. An isolated rain-thunderstorm with gusty winds is expected in Hazara Division, Kashmir and its adjoining hilly areas.
"A shallow westerly wave is affecting northern areas of the country and likely to persist for next 12 hours," the Met said. Over the past 24 hours: A dry weather gripped the most parts of the country with a scattered rain-thunderstorm and gusty winds in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir and isolated falls in Sargodha, Rawalpindi Divisions and Islamabad.
Maximum rainfall was recorded in Astore: 37mm; Balakot 27mm; Chillas 22mm; Kalam 20mm; Malamjabba 19mm; Kakul; Garhidupatta and Murree 17mm, Gilgit 15mm; Bunji and Bagrote 13mm; Chitral and Saidu Sharif 11mm;, Drosh and Pattan 10mm; Skardu 9 mm Mirkhani and Gupis 8 mm; Muzaffarabad 7 mm and Lower Dir 4 mm. As compared to rest of the country, Kalam had the lowest temperature of zero degrees Celsius.
