Pakistan Tax Bar Association (PTBA) has requested the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to extend the date of e-filing of tax returns till April 30, 2019. In a letter sent to the chairman FBR, PTBA said that following the extension being granted, many tax returns were being filed on daily basis and expected that number of filers would further increase by March, 31 2019.
It said that PTBA was receiving information from tax practitioners across the country that large number of clients would like to avail the opportunity of becoming a tax filer, however many tax returns were under initial stage and may not be able to be filed within the given time. Therefore, PTBA requested the chairman FBR to extend the date of e-filing of tax returns for tax year 2018 by April 30, 2019.
