PESHAWAR: Low lying areas of Malakand, Batkhela, Dargai, Lower Dir were inundated and a flood like situation was created in water channels after heavy rainfall hit these areas.
The weather reports showed that in Lower Dir intermittent rain for last three days and snowfall on mountains have dropped the mercury to a considerable level.People were forced to remain indoors due to harsh chilly condition.
The heavy snowfall and rain has blocked the road leading towards Pak-Afghan border at Shahi while Dir-Chitral road was also closed for vehicular traffic due to snowfall.
In Abbottabad, the three-day spell of rains and snowfall has taken a break but still the forecast showed that chances of rainfall were there in plain areas of the district. Three feet of snowfall was recorded in Nathia Gali, Ayubia and Changa Gali while in Thandyani, Mashkpuri and Merajani four feet of snowfall was recorded.
The minimum temperature was recorded as -6 degree centigrade in Nathiya Gali while it was recorded as -5 degree centigrade in Ayubia.
