Weather continued to simmer districts of Sindh, as temperature scaled up to 44 degrees Celsius in Chhor and 40 in Karachi on Monday, the Met Office said. Mercury level is expected to drop a bit to 38 degrees Celsius with no threats of heat waves in the metropolis, a Met official told Business Recorder, saying that weather may remain dry in the next 24 hours. Morning humidity is likely to reach 70 percent and the evening 45 percent.
Maximum temperature was recorded in Mithi 43 degrees Celsius, Hyderabad and Tandojam 42, each. "Continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country," the Met said. Over the next 24 hours, mainly dry weather is expected to prevail over the most parts of the country but hot in Sindh. Dusty winds are also expected in Sindh in afternoon. In the last 24 hours, dry weather gripped the most parts of the country while hot in Sindh.
Maximum temperature forecast for Tuesday in Districts of Sindh: Umer Kot is expected to witness 43 degrees Celsius, Jamshoro, Mityari and Tharparkar, 42, each, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sanghar, Noshahro Feroze and Hyderabad, 41, each, Tando Allah Yar, Tando Muhammad Khan and Badin, 40, each, Sukkur, Ghotki, Khairpur, Thatta, Sujawal, Dadu and Mirpurkhas, 39, each and Qambar Shadadkot, Kashmore and Jacobabad.
Drought: "No specific rainfall is expected in the drought prone areas," the Met Office said, however, "due to the recent rainfall drought vulnerable areas of Balochistan are out of danger for the moment". Whereas, scores of districts in Sindh including H'bad, Mityari, Qambar Shadadkot, Sajawal, Thatta, Umerkot and Tharparkar are likely to face a moderate drought.
