KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan’s (MQM-P) candidate for provincial bye-poll on PS -94 in Karachi, Hasham Raza Jelani has showed his deep concern over incident of stealing identity cards from NADRA’s office in Landhi.
In a statement Raza claimed that the theft is to prevent people from voting in the PS-94 bye-election on January 27.
A thief had stolen around 1,800 identity cards and a registration record register from NADRA’s office in Karachi’s Landhi area in the wee hours of Wednesday.
Police have started investing two NADRA employees. The investigation is being headed by Korangi SSP Syed Ali Raza. They are working to retrieve the CCTV footage of the crime.
An FIR was also registered in Landhi police station. However, NADRA has also formed a committee to investigate the incident.
