Maulana Amir Shahab succumbs to injuries

The vice administrator, Darul Uloom Korangi, Maulana Amir Shahab who sustained critical wounds in an armed attack two weeks back, succumbed to wounds, here on Thursday.
On March 22 last, Amir Shahab, who was driving Mufti Taqi Usmani's vehicle at the time of attack received bullet injuries to his upper torso. Two security guards lost their lives while renowned religious scholar and former judge of the Federal Shariah Court Mufti Taqi Usmani survived assassination attempt by unknown motorcyclists near Nipa roundabout in Gulshan-e-Iqbal. He was on his way to lead the Friday prayer at Bait-ul-Mukarram Masjid.
Since then, Maulana Shahab was under treatment at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC). On Thursday, JPMC director Dr Seemi Jamali pronounced his death.
