Embassy of Somalia Deputy Commercial Attaché Abdifitah Abdul Kadir Osman has invited to Khyber Pakhtunkhtunwa companies to participate in Single Country exhibition in Somalia, which is scheduled to be held in June 2019. He viewed that the mutual trade and business relations could be further strengthened by participation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa business community the forthcoming expo.
He extended this invitation while talking to SCCI president Faiz Mohammad Faizi during his visit to the chamber house on Saturday. SCCI former president Zahidullah Shinwari, FPCCI regional office chief coordinator, Haji Mohammad Afzal, The SCCI Senior Vice president, Engineer Saad Khan Zahid, Vice president Haris Mufti, executive committee members were present in the meeting.
Faiz Mohammad on the occasion stressed the need for further cementing trade and business ties between Pakistan and Somalia and accepted the invitation of the inviting Somalia diplomat. He told him that KP is lucrative destination for the foreign investors wherein they could export in Pharmaceutical, PVC pipes, Steel, Aluminum, Match, textile and food commodities, along with fresh fruits from the province. He said the chamber is ready to extend cooperation in this regard.
He said the holding of Single Country Exhibition in Somalia would give further boost to trade and economic ties between the two countries and could be more beneficial for business community as well.
On the occasion, Somalia Deputy Commercial Attaché Abdifitah Abdul Kadir Osman informed the participations of the meeting that trade volume between Somalia and Pakistan stood at $43 million, which could be easily enhanced up to $500 million. He asked the KP businessmen to ensure their participation the forthcoming exhibition in Somalia to further strengthen bilateral trade and economic relations between the two countries.
On the occasion, former presidents Zahidullah Shinwari, Haji Mohammad Afzal, Engineer Saad Khan Zahid and Haris Mufti gave several proposals, relating to enhancement in mutual trade volume between Pakistan and Somalia.
