The Met Office on Saturday forecast hot and humid weather for the metropolis with temperature up to 38 degrees Celsius in the next 48 hours. It said that weather is expected to remain hot up 38 degrees Celsius on Sunday with humidity up to 80 percent. Temperature may scale down to 37 degrees Celsius on Monday but humidity is likely to rise to 85 percent.
Maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded in Padidan and Jacobabbad as 45 degrees Celsius, each, followed by Mithi, Sukkur and Lasbella 44, each Rahim Yar Khan, Rohri, Dadu, Larkana, Turbat, Moen-Jo-Daro and Shaheed Benazirabad 43, each, as hot and dry weather gripped the country.
In the next 24 hours: Weather is expected to remain dry in the country but hot in Sindh and South Punjab. Rain-thunderstorm with gusty winds is likely in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, Rawalpindi, Sargodha and Gujranwala Divisions, besides Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. Mirkhani received 18 mm of rainfall, Astore 5 mm, Drosh 3 mm, Bagrote and Garidupatta 2 mm, each, and Bannu 1 mm in the last 24 hours. "Continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country," the Met said.
