National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) has made its mark as an 'inaugural participant' in a new ranking category introduced by Times Higher Education (THE), a renowned UK-based university ranking agency.
The category is called "THE University Impact Rankings" that ascertain universities' impact on society in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). THE has developed a new set of performance metrics in order to evaluate and rank universities under the new category, which assesses universities against 11 out of 17 SDGs. This year, 462 worldwide universities have been considered for the ranking.
