Punjab Minister for Livestock & Dairy Development Sardar Husnain Bahadar Dreshik has revealed that revolutionary projects would be introduced in the next financial year budget for the development and promotion of the livestock sector as per the vision of PM Imran Khan.
He was visiting the various stalls of animal feeds companies after inaugurating the Buffalo Festival & Dairy Export organized by joint collaboration of Livestock Department Punjab, Agriculture University and Buffalo Breeders Association at Tent Pegging Ground. VC Prof Dr Zafar Iqbal Randawa, DG Livestock Dr. Mansur, Director Livestock Dr. Saleha Gull, Director Farms Dr. Shahid Iqbal Gill, President Buffalo Breeders Association Saeed Hassan Fatyana, progressive livestock farmers Ch. Atta Gujjar, Basharat Jaspal, Ch. Ashraf and others were present on the occasion. Punjab Minister for Livestock appreciated the step of holding Buffalo Festival, milk competition and dairy expo and said that the collaboration of academia and farmers was very important for the sustainable development of livestock sector to achieve the real objective of farmers' prosperity.
He said that the motivation among the farmers could be increased for the breeding of buffalos by holding of healthy competitions. The Minister also lauded the efforts of animal feed companies to produce the balance feed for the cattles on scientific lines. He said that the various challenges were confronted to the livestock department which could be met with the joint efforts of academia, farmers and other stake holders to meet the food demand of the growing population.
VC Prof Dr Zafar Iqbal Randawa thanked the Livestock Minister for visiting the buffalo festival & dairy expo inaugurating the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) System. He said that the real objectives would be achieved for poverty alleviation by boosting up the livestock sector as per the vision of PM Imran Khan. He said that Agriculture University was playing its role for the development of the livestock sector. He said that holding of buffalo festival and dairy expo was also step for apprising the farmers of the modern technology of production and temptation for the farmers to breed the animals having best production.
Earlier, Punjab Minister for Livestock Sardar Husnain Bahadar Dreshik inaugurated the RFID system during a ceremony held at New Senate Hall under the arrangements of Buffalo Breeding Association. Addressing the ceremony the Minister lauded the step of introducing of modern system for the safety, monitoring and record keeping system of the animals. He said that the real development could not be ensured without the complete data. He said that Punjab govt would extend cooperation for introducing the scientific technologies for the development of livestock sector. During the function it was informed that a chip could be fixed in the body of animal for the Radio Frequency Identification system and the complete data of the animal including health record could be saved in this system. Later, the souvenirs were given to the buffalo breeders by the Livestock Minister and the Minister was also awarded with a gold medal by the buffalo breeders association.
