The upward trend in prices of important kitchen items, including vegetable, pulses, sugar, flour, except live chicken/meat, eggs was witnessed in retail market, said in a survey carried out by Business Recorder, here on Sunday.
Tomatoes are being sold at Rs80 and Rs100 per kilogram which was selling at Rs60 per kilogramme in the previous week, the survey noticed, added that onion is being sold at Rs50 per kilogramme against the price of Rs40 per kilogramme in the last week in open market.
The survey further said that ginger is available at Rs200 per kilogramme which was selling at Rs160 per kilogramme in the last week. Price of Chinese garlic increased at Rs200 per kilogramme which was being sold at Rs160 per kilogramme in a few days back, while local produced garlic priced at Rs160 per kilogramme which was selling at Rs80 per kilogramme.
Price of green chili has decreased at Rs200 per kilogram which was selling at Rs250 per kilogramme in last week. Carrots are being sold at Rs50 per kilogramme, while lemon priced at Rs120 per kilogramme in open market.
According to the survey, red-potatoes are being available at Rs30 per kilogramme against the price of Rs20 per kilogramme in the last week. Peas are being sold at Rs80 per kilogramme, which was selling at Rs60 per kilogramme. Capsicum is being available at Rs80 and Rs100 per kilogramme.
It added that ladyfinger is being sold at Rs100 and Rs120 per kilogrmame, Apple, round and other gourds are available at Rs60 and Rs80 per kilogramme in local market. Bitter ground (Kerala) is being sold at Rs80 per kilogramme.
Price of chicken live/meat was remained unchanged in open market, as available at Rs 171 per kilogramme. Farm eggs are being sold at Rs 80 and Rs 90 per dozen. Cow meat is available at Rs400 per kilogramme while mutton beef priced at Rs700 per kilogramme.
A visible variation in prices of pulses/food grains was witnessed in retail market against wholesale rates, the survey noticed. For instance, good quality rice (sela) is being sold at Rs130 per kilogramme in wholesale market while same quality rice is being sold at Rs140 and Rs150 per kilogramme in retail market.
Similarly, the toota rice is available at Rs70 per kilogramme in retail market while the commodity is being sold at Rs80 per kilogramme in wholesale market. Likewise, price of big-size white channa is being sold at Rs120 per kilogram in wholesale market while the commodity is being sold at Rs130 and Rs140 per kilogramme in retail market.
Dhoti dal is being sold at Rs140 per kilogram in retail market while the commodity is being sold at Rs130 per kilogram in wholesale market, the survey said, and added that dal channa is being sold at Rs140 per kilogramme in retail market against the price of Rs130 per kilogramme in wholesale market.
The survey further noticed that dal masoor is being sold at Rs100 per kilogram in retail market against the price of Rs90 per kilogramme in wholesale market. Dal mash is being sold at Rs 140 per kilogramme in retail market, while the commodity is being sold at Rs130 per kilogramme in wholesale/open market.
Dal chilka (green) is being sold at Rs140 per kilogramme, while dal chilka (black) available at Rs 140-150 per kilogramme in retail market. White lobiya is being sold at Rs110 per kilogramme in retail market while the commodity is being sold at Rs120 per kilogramme in open market. Red bean is being sold at Rs120 per kg, Rs 140 per kilogramme and Rs180 per kilogramme in retail market. Moonge is being available at Rs 120 per kilogramme.
