Former Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that neither did he receive any notice nor was charged of any irregularity during his 55-year political career, but the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has made him an accused in the fake bank accounts case.
Addressing a news conference here on Monday, the PPP leader said that the case of selling of two sugar mills has been imposed on him which is 22 years old. "I was given a questionnaire by the NAB, which I answered. We will defend ourselves. I told the NAB that a copy of proofs should be provided to me, but they only gave me a questionnaire," he added.
Secretary General PPP Farhatullah Babar and Chief Media Coordinator PPP Nazir Dukki were also present on this occasion.
Shah said that a lot of development work was done in Tharparkar during his era. He said that 330MW coal power plant in Tharparkar has been inaugurated while another coal power project of 330 MW would be completed in the next month.
"We have provided mobile medical facilities in Thar and have made roads," the PPP leader claimed.
He said, "We made eleven universities in Sindh, out of which four are medical universities. We are also providing health facilitates at union council level in Sindh." He said, "We did a lot of work in various sectors in Sindh. We gave employment to the people."
He said that the 18th Amendment and the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award took place in 2010 and the provinces got 56 percent share and the Centre got 44 percent share. "We have made four major hospitals in which patients are treated freely. We have also established a ten-storey building of trauma centre in Karachi," he claimed.
