The country's most parts are expected to receive a normal rainfall in April 2019 with up to two windstorms in the upper region, the Met Office said on Tuesday.
It said that mainly normal rainfall is expected in the most parts of the country but slightly above normal in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Balochistan. Up to two isolated windstorms with rainfall are also likely to hit Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Upper Punjab this month.
Air temperature, it said, is expected to remain 1 degree Celsius above normal in the most of the plains. "El Nino & Southern Oscillations (ENSO) is in positive phase and is expected to continue in the spring season," the Met said.
In the next 24 hours: Mainly a hot and dry weather is expected in the most parts of the country but very hot in South Punjab and Sindh. However, an isolated dust-thunderstorm with a light rain and gusty winds is likely in Quetta, Zhob, D.I. Khan, D. G. Khan, Multan, Sargodha, Sukkur, Larkana and Rawalpindi Divisions and Kashmir.
In the last 24 hours: A dry and hot weather prevailed over the most parts of the country, while very hot in South Punjab and Sindh. An isolated dust-thunderstorm with rain reported in Kohat, Bannu and Quetta Divisions.
Maximum temperature was recorded in Shaheed Benazirabad and Dadu as 44 degrees Celsius, each, Sukkur and Sakrand 43, each and Mithi, Moen-Jo-Daro, Tandojam and Chhor 42, each. Bannu received 6 mm of rainfall, Parachinar 4 mm and Quetta 2 mm.
