Automobile manufacturer Porsche is working towards building electric vehicles to contribute in going green. To accomplish the efforts even more, the firm has announced that its EV factory too will be as green as its cars.

Moving towards a ‘Zero Impact Factory’, German automaker Porsche announced that the production for its Taycan electric car will be as ecologically responsible as the car itself.

As per Porsche, for the first time, the factory will use nitrogen oxide-absorbing facades on some parts of the building, which will reduce the factory’s pollution. The surfaces will be made from aluminum coated in titanium dioxide.

Hyundai plans to introduce self-charging in electric vehicles

The titanium dioxide coating acts as a catalyst and breaks down the absorbed particles into harmless substances water and nitrate when exposed to sunlight and with only low air humidity.

Aiming to eliminate the ‘ecological footprint’ for its car production, Porsche conducted a test on an about 1,356sq ft area, the surfaces absorbed nitrogen oxide as well as ten trees on an area with a size of only ten parking spaces.

Moreover, Porsche’s first electric vehicle is expected to make its debut in late 2019, the production of which will be carbon dioxide-neutral along with reducing pollution. “We are consistently pursuing our objective of sports car production completely without any ecological footprint,” expressed Albrecht Reimold, member of the Executive Board responsible for Production and Logistics at Porsche.
