Pakistan on Thursday sought more information from India on its 'dossier' on Pulwama attack, as New Delhi is yet to share any 'actionable' intelligence with Islamabad, Foreign Office said. Foreign Office spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal told his weekly media briefing that Indian deputy high commissioner was summoned at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a new set of questions regarding the Pulwama attack was handed over to him.
The eight questions shared with the Indian diplomat, according to sources, mainly pertain to a telephone number India has earlier provided in the 'dossier', allegedly used by a person namely Mohammad Hassan, a so-called spokesperson of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), for communication on WhatsApp with Adil Ahmad Dar, the alleged suicide bomber of February 14 Pulwama attack.
"Who is Mohammad Hassan?" is one of the questions asked from the India side, the sources maintained, adding that other details of his WhatsApp number, the name of the cellular company and the SIM card used by Hassan for communication with the alleged suicide bomber have also been sought.
Responding to a query, Dr Faisal said that India is yet to provide details on the earlier questions Pakistan has sought on March 28, adding that Pakistan is committed to proceeding if actionable intelligence is provided.
He said that Pakistan has agreed to the Indian proposal to hold the meeting of technical exports on Kartarpur Corridor in good spirit to be held on April 16 at Zero Point in Kartarpur Sahib. He pointed out that Pakistan was also ready for April 02 meeting, adding that the country is ready in future too, as all issues can be resolved through talks only.
Referring to the India's proposed demographic changes in the status of occupied Jammu and Kashmir, he said that Pakistan has completely rejected the Indian intention of scrapping Article 370 of its constitution that guarantees autonomous status to the state of Jammu and Kashmir, adding that the move will be in complete violation of the UN Security Council resolutions.
He said that Pakistan will forcefully raise any move aimed at demographic changes in the status of IoK with India and also at the international forums. He said the issue of Kashmir can only be resolved in the light of UN Security Council resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
Referring to the continued Indian atrocities in IoK, he said that Pakistan has been consistently raising the issue of human rights violations in occupied valley at the United Nations, adding that Indian repression of Kashmiris cannot break their demand of self-determination.
Responding to another query, the spokesperson said that as the foreign minister stated last week that Indian threats of another aggression against Pakistan still persist, there is credible intelligence that India could launch a misadventure against Pakistan from April 16 to 20.
However, he made it clear that Pakistan will respond decisively if its resolve is tested by India, adding that the level of threat emanating from India is still high.
About the recent visit of the US CENTCOM Commander General Kenneth McKenzie to Pakistan, he said that it was the first visit of General McKenzie to Pakistan after assuming his charge. The purpose of visit was to interact with his counterpart Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa and discuss professional matters with him. He also paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister Imran Khan, he added.
Replying to another question, he said that Pakistan will not be part of next round of talks between Taliban and the US in Doha this month. He said that there will also be an intra-Afghan dialogue on April 19 which has been organised by Russia. The first such meeting was held in Moscow in February this year, he added.
He said Pakistan has supported the peace talks in the past and will continue playing its facilitative role for durable peace in Afghanistan. He said dialogue is a good way to resolve all outstanding conflicts. About Prime Minister Imran Khan's visit to Iran, the spokesperson confirmed that the Prime Minister will pay an official visit to Iran anytime soon. However, he said that the dates and agenda of his meetings in Tehran will be shared with media in due course of time. To another question, he said that the newly appointed Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood will assume the charge of his office on April 16.
