Federal Ministry for Human Rights under the auspices of Federal Minister for Human Rights Dr Shireen Mazari in collaboration with ROZEN and in partnership with ICT Police held a successful symposium/seminar on gender-based violence at Police Lines Headquarters. According to details, THE ROZEN in collaboration with the Ministry of Human Rights and in partnership with the ICT Police held a successful symposium/seminar on gender-based violence. This seminar was also graced by Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Khan Afridi.
This seminar was attended by DIG (Security) Waqar Ahmad Chauhan, DIG (Headquarters) Sarfraz Ahmad Falki, DIG (Operations) Waqar Ud Din Syed, other senior police officers including members from civil society, transgender community, minorities and foreign dignitaries, says a press release issued here on Thursday.
It was a unique occasion which was started off with recitation of the Holy Quran as well as recitation of Bible verses by Samson Sohail. Shehryar Khan Afridi said during a heartfelt speech "hats off to IGP Islamabad and ROZEN for this inspirational event". He said that credit goes to Dr Shireen Mazari, who is a strong lady to be reckoned with. He said that unfortunately legacy of Islam is not followed in its true spirit.-PR
