Pakistan and Jordan have agreed to improve military to military ties and the main domain would be training and counterterrorism.
The decision came during a meeting between Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Chief of Staff of Strategic Planning and Defence Resources Jordan Armed Forces, Major General Nassar Al Athamneh, at General Headquarters (GHQ) on Monday.
The Media wing of the Armed Forces, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that matters of mutual and professional interests with special emphasis on defence and security collaboration between the two brotherly countries were discussed.
"Both sides agreed to further optimise military to military relations particularly in training and counterterrorism domain," said the ISPR.
Earlier in October 2018, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited Jordan for three days and called on King Abdullah-II Ibn Al Hussain and other high dignitaries, and discussed regional security situation and bilateral cooperation.
The king had awarded Gen Bajwa with 'Order of the Military Merit' in recognition of his services for improving bilateral defence and security relations.
The king had expressed earnest desire to enhance the cooperation between the two countries in multiple fields including security and defence production.
