Minister lauds launch of Vision 2030 at Graana Expo

The Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Khan Afridi has appreciated the launch of Vision 2030 at Graana Expo 2019 held from April 13-14 at the Pak-China Friendship Centre here in federal capital. According to the details of the event released here on Monday, Graana Group of Companies President General Saad Khattak (Retd) and Chairman Shafiq Akbar welcomed all the distinguished guests at the Graana Expo and thanked them for endorsing the industry development role of Graana Expo for the real estate industry of Pakistan.
The launch of Vision 2030 was the highlight of the first day of Graana Expo. Vision 2030 is a collaboration between Iqbal Institute of Policy Studies and Graana.com. Under this programme a digital catalogue has been developed for the commercial land inventory of Pakistan. This inventory is valued at one trillion dollars. Of this 250 billion dollars can be generated through land investments. An additional 250 billion dollars can be generated by construction activities that will boost establishment of local construction materials and supplies industries.
The setup of these industries will generate millions of jobs and help cut the import bill. The Vision 2030 presentation was delivered by Graana Group Chairman Shafiq Akbar and the session was attended by key representatives of the real estate and construction industry.
The Vision 2030 presentation was followed by a panel discussion including SardarYasirIlyas (CEO Centaurus), KanwalShauzab (Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of Planning, Development & Reform), ArifAbbasi (Chairman RDA), Ibtisam Peerzada (Chief Landscape Architect CDA), Faisal Arshad (Chairman IAP RIC, Principal Architect/ Founder FA+P), Maj Gen Saad Khattak (Retd)(President Graana), Shafiq Akbar (CEO Graana Group), Farhan Javed (Director Graana Group), Shehryar Khan Afridi (Minister of State for Interior), Fawad Suhail Abbasi (VP IAP, Partner Suhail & Fawad Architects), Air Cmdr Javed Khan (Retd) (Regional Head Interwood), Ali Khan (Corp Sales Brighto Paints), Syed Mujtaba Zaidi (Dir Forestry & Corp Affairs ZRK Group), Khurram Fareed Bargarat (Vice Chairman Town Planning PCATP).
On the second day of Graana Expo a vintage car rally lead by President Malik Shahid Saleem of Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry with a delegation arrived at the property festival and took a tour of the Graana Expo. Eighteen Islamabad and Agency 21 were the Titanium and Platinum partners of GraanaExpo 2019.
Shafiq Akbar, Chairman Graana Group of Companies and CEO Graana.com said that Pakistan could create over one trillion dollars under the Vision 2030, build the housing sector and provide jobs and training to the 70 million youth of Pakistan. All the realty sector needs is a smart and effective policymaking framework by the state. This would enable the real estate industry to contribute to the economy at its full potential.
