North Waziristan, Abottabad and Peshawar advanced to next round after recording victories against their respective rivals in the All Pakistan Inter-City Football League which got under here at Tehmas Khan Football Stadium on Tuesday. Chairman Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Football Association and former Health Minister KP Syed Zahir Ali Shah was the chief guest on this occasion who formally inaugurated the Championship.
Secretary Organizing Committee and former international footballer Basit Kamal, former National team skipper Gohar Zaman, Haji Hidayat Ullah, officials, players and large number of spectators were also present. Earlier, in the opening match North Waziristan defeated Khurram by 6-1. Sheharyar scored two goals while Zahid, Said Ullah and Imam Hussain scored one goal each while for Khuram Syed Muhammad reduced the margin.
In the Malakand beat Peshawar by solitary goal scored by Asim on the field attempt while Abbottabad beat Mardan when left winger Saud Khan netted a fine goal.
