The Karachi Port handled 89,762 tonnes of cargo comprising 41,334 tonnes of import cargo and 48,428 tonnes of export cargo including 3,085 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday.
The total import cargos of 41,334 tonnes comprised of 23,374 tonnes of containerised cargo; 799 tonnes of bulk cargo; 6,261 tonnes of DAP and 10,900 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 48,428 tonnes comprised of 25,452 tonnes of containerised cargo; 146 tonnes of bulk cargo; 14,900 tonnes of clinkers; 1,427 tonnes of wheat; 1,803 tonnes of rice and 4,700 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
As many as 3,085 containers comprising of 1,432 containers import and 1,653 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 790 of 20's and 302 40's loaded while 20 of 20's and 09 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 707 of 20's and 243 of 40's loaded containers while 158 of 20's and 151 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were five ships namely APL England, OOCL Chicago, MTM Mumbai, Norderney and Lian Hua Song carrying containers, oil tanker and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were four vessels viz. MOLGenerosity, Cosco Indonesia, MT Karachi and Constantinos carrying containers and oil tankers respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 165,751 tonnes comprising 124,198 tonnes of import cargo and 41,553 tonnes of export cargo including 4,746 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 124,198 tonnes includes 3,002 tonnes of palm oil; 610 tonnes of palm kernel; 26,100 tonnes of LNG; 38,967 tonnes of coal; 4,398 tonnes of soyabean seeds; 2,500 tonnes of chemical and 48,621 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 41,553 tonnes includes 41,553 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 4,746 containers comprising of 2,557 containers import and 2,189 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
There were five ships namely Tempanos, MSC Elsa-3, Maersk Bentonville, Nord Traveler and Xin Hua carrying containers, coal and soyabean respectively sailed out to sea on Friday afternoon.
A total number of eleven vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, soyabean seeds, chemical, palm kernel, diesel oil and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as ten vessels viz. Tempanos, Star Eos, Thor Madoc, Indigo Flora, Marlin-V, Alani, TRF Memphis, Bruno, NCC Haiel, Beat Rice and Bunga Almanda respectively carrying coal, chemical and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were two vessels viz. Alani and TRF Memphis carrying coal and chemical respectively expected to take berths at Pakistan International Bulk Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Friday
There are two ships namely Diyala and Cape Male carrying containers due to arrive on Saturday.
