Christians all over the world including Pakistan are celebrating Easter with zeal and enthusiasm on Sunday (today). Special prayers will be organised at churches across the country for the progress, prosperity and security of Pakistan. Law enforcing agencies have taken special measures to ensure fool-proof security on the occasion.
On Saturday, police officers visited churches to review the security arrangements. Special arrangements have been made at churches for the facilitation of visitors. In his message, the Punjab CM Sardar Usman Buzdar has greeted the Christian community on the eve of Easter.
"The Christian community is peace-loving and we respect them and share their joys. Easter is the time to guide the humanity to welfare of humanity and promote pious qualities," he said, adding: "Islam teaches us to respect all prophets and we believe in all prophets including Hazrat Essa (AS) as this is part of our faith. Brotherhood, harmony and forgiving are teachings of Hazrat Essa (AS)."
He said, "Pakistan is the country of all of us and all citizens have equal rights. The provision of fundamental rights, protection of life and property and giving opportunities for development to minorities is the responsibility of the state."
Moreover, the PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif in his message congratulated the Christian community on the occasion and said the nation shares the Christian community's happiness. "Easter is an occasion to share happiness and joy with deserving people. Sharing the joys of others multiplies happiness," Shahbaz said, adding: "We need to promote the message of love and harmony everywhere today."
