Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Thursday visited the Orange Line Metro Train depot at Dera Gujran and directed authorities concerned that in the light of court directions, timely completion of Orange Line project should be ensured.
The CM was briefed that 92 percent work of the project has been completed and one thousand passengers could travel in one set of orange line metro train. After the completion of civil works, Chinese contractor will complete electrical and mechanical works as soon as possible.
The CM inspected the train and directed that civil works should be further accelerated keeping in view the problems relating to the people. "No development project of public welfare will be stopped," he said. He also visited Shalimar Station and inspected its various sections.
Buzdar later chaired a high-level meeting at his office in which public welfare projects and development programme of DG Khan Division and other districts of southern Punjab were reviewed in detail.
Expressing displeasure over non-completion of public welfare projects in time, the CM said that there is no justification of delay. He announced that he will visit to personally monitor the speed of work on development schemes. "Every area should be given its share in development programme and delay in completion of development schemes is unacceptable," he said, adding: "Every possible effort will be made for early completion of Muzaffargarh-DG Khan road project."
Moreover, in his message on PTI's Foundation Day, the CM Usman Buzdar said that PM Imran Khan has made the PTI a harbinger of change and broken the traditions of orthodoxy and fear of new trends in the politics.
"PTI is a genuine political party which represents the aspirations and emotions of the people. The PTI has also broken the politics of status-quo and introduced change," he said.
