Prices of essential kitchen items witnessed a mixed trend during this week past as compared to preceding week, a survey conducted by Business Recorder revealed here on Saturday. Onions' price remained stable at Rs 250 per 5kg which were being sold at Rs 65 per kg in the retail market, potatoes price remained stable at Rs 90-100 per 5kg which were being sold at Rs 25-30 per kg in the retail market and tomatoes' price further went down from Rs 300 to Rs 250 per 5kg which were being sold at Rs 65 against Rs 75 per kg in the retail market.
Local garlic price went down from Rs 500 to Rs 400 per 5kg, which was being sold at Rs 120 against Rs 150 per kg in the retail market while price of local ginger went down from Rs 1,000 to Rs 900 per 5kg which was being sold at Rs 225 against Rs 250 per kg in the retail market.
Lemon price went up from Rs 1,200 to Rs 1,300 per 5kg which were being sold at Rs 300 against Rs 270 per kg in the retail market, capsicum price went up from Rs 300 per 5kg to Rs 375 per 5kg which in retail market was being sold at Rs 95-85 per kg against Rs 80 per kg; yam (arvi) price went further up from Rs 400 per 5kg to Rs 460 per 5kg which in retail market was being sold at Rs 95-105 per kg against Rs 90 per kg; China carrot price went down from Rs 250 per 5kg to Rs 200 per 5kg which in retail market was being sold at Rs 50 per kg against Rs 60 per kg, radish price further went up from Rs 150 per 8kg pack to Rs 180 per 8kg pack which in retail market was being sold at Rs 40-35 per kg against Rs 30 per kg, and peas price went up from Rs 350 per 5kg to Rs 375 per 5 kg which in retail market were being sold at Rs 100 per kg against Rs 90-95 per kg.
Cucumber price went down from Rs 200 per 5kg to Rs 175 per 5kg which in market was being sold at Rs 50 per kg against Rs 60 per kg, cauliflower price went up from Rs 250 per 5 kg to Rs 275 per 5kg which in retail market was being sold at Rs 70 per kg against Rs 65 per kg, cabbage price remained stable at Rs 175 per 5kg which in retail market was being sold at Rs 50 per kg.
Okra price went down from Rs 750 per 5kg to Rs 550 per 5kg which in retail market was being sold at Rs 145 per kg against Rs 180-190 per kg, brinjal price went down from Rs 300 to Rs 230 per 5 kg which in retail market was being sold at Rs 60 per kg against Rs 75 per kg, and ridge gourd (tori) price remained stable at Rs 450 per 5kg which in retail market was being sold at Rs 110 per kg. Pumpkin price went down from Rs 400 per 5 kg to Rs 250 per 5 kg which was being sold at Rs 65 per kg against Rs 100 per kg, tinda price remained unchanged at Rs 400 per 5kg which in retail market was being sold at Rs 100-120 per kg and beans price remained unchanged at Rs 450 per 5kg which in retail market were being sold at Rs 110-120 per kg.
The survey observed no change in the price cooking oil, tea, spices, milk and rice during this week. Prices of all the major pulses remained stable as fine quality white lentil (Maash) was being sold at Rs 175 per kg, while normal quality at Rs 140 per kg, good quality grams at Rs 185 per kg and normal quality grams at Rs 140 per kg, kidney bean (Lobia) in the range of Rs 130-170 per kg, green gram (Moong) at Rs120 per kg and red lentil (Masoor) was being sold at Rs 140 per kg.
During the week under review, eggs price remained stable at Rs 80 per dozen which in retail market were being sold at Rs 90 per dozen, chicken price went down from Rs 6,500 per 40kg to Rs 6,200 per 40kg which in retail market was being sold at Rs 180 per kg against Rs 190 per kg, chicken meat price went down from Rs 340 per kg to Rs 330 per kg, beef price remained stable at Rs 480 per kg and mouton price remained Rs 1,000 per kg.
Overall fruit prices went up as Turkish apple was available at Rs 400 per kg against Rs 300 per kg, golden apple at Rs 200 per kg, white apple at Rs 145 per kg against Rs 100 per kg and Ambri apple at Rs 130 per kg against Rs 100 per kg.
Good quality local banana was being sold at Rs 130 per dozen against Rs 100 per dozen, normal quality banana in the range of Rs 75-90 per dozen against Rs 60-70 per dozen, while Indian banana was being sold at Rs 275 per dozen against Rs 250 per dozen. Good quality guava was available at Rs 110 per kg against Rs 80 per kg and normal quality guava at Rs 60-80 per kg against Rs 45-55 per kg. Watermelon was available at Rs 75 per kg and red-blood orange at Rs 350 per dozen.
