As many as 36 Ramazan bazaars would be set up in the four districts of Faisalabad Division in order to provide quality essential items to the consumers on specially controlled and subsidized prices during the holy month of Ramazan. This was disclosed in a meeting held here under the chairmanship of Divisional Commissioner Mehmud Javed Bhatti in which the arrangements of the Ramazan bazaars were reviewed.
Deputy Commissioner Faisalabad Sardar Saifullah Dogar, Deputy Commissioner Jhang Tahir Wattoo, Deputy Commissioner Chiniot Amaan Anwar Qudwai, ADCG T. T. Singh Babar Suleman gave briefing during the meeting about the details of Ramazan plan of their respective districts. It was informed that 19 Ramazan bazaars at Faisalabad, 8 at Jhang, 5 at Chiniot and 4 Ramazan bazaars in Toba Tek Singh district would be established which would start from 25th Shaban i.e. 2nd May.
Reviewing the arrangements of Ramazan bazaars the Divisional Commissioner said it would be gigantic exercise for providing economic relief to the consumers during the holy month of Ramazan. He directed the district administrations that utmost efforts should be mobilized to make the Ramazan bazaars a success by following the policy of Punjab govt. relating to the Ramazan Package. He stressed upon devising effective and solid strategy for the supply of quality essential commodities in Ramazan bazaars without any interruption. He said that the Ramazan bazaars in tehsil and town level should be given more attention for making them beneficial to the common persons of far flung areas. He advised that alternative arrangements of generators for power supply should be made besides taking measures to keep the Ramazan bazaars functional in case of rain and storm. He said that facility of wash rooms, wheel chairs, rest areas with air coolers and displaying of electronic price boards be provided including availability of medical camps and complaint centres at the each and every Ramazan bazaar. The Commissioner stressed upon ensuring pleasant environment by making arrangements of regular cleanliness, traffic management and security. He asked the officers of district administration to keep the Price Control Magistrates active for checking the chances of price hike in open market and stern action should be taken against the profiteers. He said that the officers of agriculture, livestock, food, industries and agri marketing departments should perform their duties efficiently for provision of vegetables, fruit, sugar, flour, chicken, meat, ghee, cocking oil in abundance quantity. Among others Addl Commissioner Mehbub Ahmad, ADCR Tariq Niazi, DD Agriculture Khalid Mehmud, CEO Faisalabad Waste Management Company Kashif Raza Awan, Chief Officers Sardar Naseer, Naeemullah, Assistant Director Livestock Dr Abdul Majid were present in the meeting.
