The Karachi Port handled 102,266 tonnes of cargo comprising 70,392 tonnes of import cargo and 31,874 tonnes of export cargo including 6,057 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargos of 70,392 tonnes comprised of 41,083 tonnes of containerised cargo; 650 tonnes of bulk cargo and 28,659 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 31,874 tonnes comprised of 29,372 tonnes of containerised cargo; 263 tonnes of bulk cargo and 1,704 tonnes of wheat. As many as 6,057 containers comprising of 3,516 containers import and 2,541 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 529 of 20's and 1,277 40's loaded while 195 of 20's and 119 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 830 of 20's and 495 of 40's loaded containers while 185 of 20's and 268 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were nine ships namely Hyundai Vancouvet MS Tiger, OOCL California, Kota Kamil, Gao Cheng-2, Torm Ismini, Al Mahboobah, Venus Bay and Liberty Peace carrying containers, oil tankers, chemical, rice and vehicle respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were eight vessels viz. OOCL California, Kota Kamil, Ningbo Express, Kota Cabar, Polp, SC Shenzhen, Polar Cod and Zi Jing Song carrying containers, oil tankers and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 152,568 tonnes comprising 124,178 tonnes of import cargo and 28,390 tonnes of export cargo including 2,000 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 124,178 tonnes includes 63,800 tonnes of LNG; 15,500 tonnes of palm oil; 2,583 tonnes of coal; 4,809 tonnes of chemical; 14,686 tonnes of canola seeds and 22,800 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 28,390 tonnes includes 13,190 tonnes of cement and 15,200 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 2,000 containers comprising of 1,200 containers import and 800 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
There were four ships namely CPO Hamburg, Kamile Kosan, BW GDF Suez Brussel and Tiger Glory carrying containers, chemical, LNG and palm oil respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday afternoon. A total number of seven vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, cement, chemical, canola seeds and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as ten vessels viz. APL New York, Thor Madoc, Marlin-V, Pisti, Crimson Kingdom, Malhari, White Purl, BW Panthar, Torm Ismini and MR Pigasus respectively carrying containers, coal, soyabean, chemical, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were four vessels viz. APL New York, Maersk Seletar, Torm Ismini and MR Pigasus carrying containers, diesel oil and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
There were three ships namely Maersk Seletar, Red Fin and Globe Rose carrying containers, coal and steel coil respectively due to arrive on Tuesday. There are three ships namely MOL Gateway, Gaslog Salatoga and Xia Men Ze Ping carrying containers, LNG and general cargo respectively due to arrive on Wednesday.
