Pakistan People's Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari warned the PTI-led federal government on Wednesday that his party will reject any deal with International Monetary Fund (IMF), without getting it approved from the National Assembly.
Addressing the party's rally held in connection with Labour Day at Quaidabad, Landhi, Bilawal said: "The government has no answer when asked what deal is being finalised with IMF." "I want to make it clear, PPP will not accept any secretive deal," he added.
He also criticized the policies of PTI government saying it brings amnesty for the rich, and inflation for the poor. It withdraws subsidies from farmers, and gives incentives to the millionaires. The resignation of finance minister is a clear indication of the failure of Imran Khan's government. He said PPP is the only party that can stable economy of this country.
Bilawal said providing roti, kapra aur makan (bread, cloth and shelter) among the poor citizens was the dream of his party's founder Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and the PPP was making all out efforts to ensure these basic facilities.
"NAB is a black law; a dictator had established it for political engineering and to suppress his political opponents. Today, people die in NAB custody," he said. We have no objection with accountably, but it should be across the board.
He also offered salute to labourers who laid their lives for the rights of their class during struggle for the restoration and strengthening the democracy in the country.
Bilawal urged PM Imran Khan to seek apology from labourers for their economic murder. PPP Sindh chapter president Nisar Ahmad Khoro said the event was held to pay tribute to the martyred labourers of Chicago, Pakistan and elsewhere. PPP labour unions are vibrant at different departments including SSGC, Steel Mills, and Pakistan Railways.
He also criticized PTI-led federal government's policies saying people have got fed up with Prime Minister Imran Khan due to unemployment, and hike in prices of fuel and essential items. PPP senior leader Saeed Ghani lashed out at Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) saying MQM was doing politics of hatred. He said PPP would stand affirm against enemies who are bent upon breaking Sindh.
