The Quaid-e-Azam University has awarded M.Phil degree to Jan Sher Khan in Sedimentology here on Saturday. He successfully defended his thesis under the supervision of Dr Mumtaz Muhammad Shah in the field of Sedimentology at department of earth sciences. The title of his Research was "detailed diagenetic study of part of Ambar and Panjpir formation in Peshawar Basin Pakistan". Two phases of Diagenetic dolomites are present in both formations. Proposed Diagenetic model for Ambar formation is Burial while for Panjpir formation some basinal fluids are also involved with the deep burial.-PR
