The Karachi Port handled 118,202 tonnes of cargo comprising 82,727 tonnes of import cargo and 35,475 tonnes of export cargo including 4,345 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargos of 82,727 tonnes comprised of 18,759 tonnes of containerised cargo; 680 tonnes of bulk cargo; 3,560 tonnes of soyabean seeds and 59,728 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 35,475 tonnes comprised of 26,042 tonnes of containerised cargo; 120 tonnes of bulk cargo; 6,883 tonnes of cement and 2,430 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 4,345 containers comprising of 1,481 containers import and 2,864 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 456 of 20's and 341 of 40's loaded while 219 of 20's and 62 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 709 of 20's and 495 of 40's loaded containers while 447 of 20's and 359 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were two ships namely Hyundai Colombo and Diyala carrying containers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were four vessels viz. APL Minnesota, Xin Fu Zhou, Chenway Arrow and Seacon-6 carrying containers. Oil tanker and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 73,711 tonnes comprising 60,867 tonnes of import cargo and 12,844 tonnes of export cargo including 1,932 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 60,867 tonnes includes 20,470 tonnes of coal; 10,244 tonnes of chemical; 6,289 tonnes of soyabean seeds and 23,864 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 12,844 tonnes includes 12,844 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 1,932 containers comprising of 1,256 containers import and 676 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. There were four ships namely Seamax Darien, Thor Madoc, Marlin-V and Snow Ploeg carrying containers, coal and phosphoric acid sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning.
A total number of five vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, soyabean seed and phosphoric acid respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours. As many as eight vessels viz. Hong Dai, Equinox Dawn, Malhari, GSW Adventure, Marangas Coronis, White Purl, Constantinos and BW Panthar respectively carrying soyabean, coal, chemical, LNG, LPG and diesel oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were seven vessels viz. Maersk Chicago, MSC Pina, Globe Rose, Equinox Dawn, GSW Adventure, Marangas Coronis and White Purl carrying containers, general cargo, coal, chemical, LNG and LPG respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal, Engro Elengy Terminal and SSGC LPG Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
There were three ships namely Maersk Chicago, MSC Pina and Globe Rose carrying containers and general cargo respectively due to arrive on Tuesday. There is one ship namely Los Angeles Trader carrying containers due to arrive on Wednesday.
